Project Description

The project aimed to support TV9, a local media outlet in the Samtskhe-Javakheti region, to enhance access for Armenian minority groups, and hence increase their awareness of Georgian matters and promote civic engagement among the community.

CSD partnered with the Samtskhe-Javakheti based media company – TV9 to implement a 10-months long support project in pursuit of the following objectives:

1. Increase capacity of regional media to identify disinformation and to conduct strategic communications;

2. Enhance access to media for the Armenian-speaking ethnic minority groups, and ensure they are provided with correct and relevant information about the COVID-19;

3.Establish a cooperation platform for the regional CSO and media representatives to provide parties with an opportunity of improving efficiency of their work through recurring coordination (online) meetings and addressing pertinent challenges. Platform is expected to result in better tailoring of media work to the local needs of the target communities.
